Nietzsche says that
“Man is a rope stretched between the animal and the Superman–a rope over an abyss. A dangerous crossing, a dangerous wayfaring, a dangerous looking-back, a dangerous trembling and halting.”
Humanity is beautiful because we are a bridge between our facticity and our transcendence.
We are both at the same time who we are (fact) and who we may become (transcendence).
We have so much potential to unlock. But it’s dangerous too. It’s just a matter of tugging the rope in the right direction.
