When people built this tunnel, did they know how many people would pass through?

How many students and faculty… Athletes, chemists, accountants…

How many people from Richmond will walk this tunnel? How many people from China, Korea, South America, Africa?

I pass through this tunnel almost every day, several times a day.

They say to truly understand someone, you need to walk a mile in their shoes. But if you walk the same path as me every day, even then you won’t know how my life feels. And I won’t understand how you feel either.

This tunnel reminds me every day that if I ever see a tunnel, or a passage way to opportunity, I need to take it.
