How far will artificial intelligence take us?
I just watched the Black Mirror Episode “Be Right Back” wherein a woman, who, having recently lost her husband in a car crash, signs up for an AI program where a humanoid robot is fed an archive of data to simulate the deceased husband.
As similar as the robot becomes, he still will never be real. He is driven off data and that’s simply not how life works.
And that begs to question whether or not we can allow ourselves to exploit technology this way. Right now, Twitter’s software allows it to post tweets even on a deceased person’s account.
It’s a very real reality that AI has a lot of potential, but it’s a fine line we need to be wary of.
