Plans fall through

[Daily Blog Post #264]

Plans will fall through

Maybe you were supposed to go see the Terra Cotta warriors, or go to Yellow Mountain this weekend, but somehow that fell through.

Maybe next week was supposed to be your trip to Beijing for a work project, but you don’t have your passport so you can’t travel.

Maybe you were supposed to stay an extra 5 days at the end of your school program to go see your family, but your VISA expires early and you can’t stay anymore or you’d get deported.

Plans will fall through, but that doesn’t mean you can’t forge those opportunities.

Just because you won’t be climbing a mountain this weekend, doesn’t mean you can’t plan something else. When plans fall through, you lose the plan, but you can opportunity and time.

So instead, this week I will be at Disney.

Instead of going to Beijing next week, I’ll be sending my passport to the embassy to try and extend my VISA.

Instead of worrying about not being able to see my family in China, I’ll make time by giving up a few days during my program.

Plans fall through. But that doesn’t mean you can’t make a backup plan.
