Society tells us that when you are distressed, the proper response is a swear word.
But, if you hang out with me for extended periods of time, you will know that I truly don’t swear.
MOTHER F-ATHER, that is unfortunate!
SON OF A B-AD LUCK, that hurt!
HOLY SH-PIRIT, that was funny!
Thanks to Ryan Higa (YouTuber), swear words are not a part of my daily life, and the idea of saying them makes me cringe.
I simply replace very vulgar swear words with similar sounding regular words.
And my go-to replacement for the word “f*ck” is to simply say “F” but in a very aggressive way. People find it hilarious that I only say the letter.
There are always, always alternatives.
If you don’t want to conform to society’s trends, there is always a way for you to be different, there are always other options.
“The time you spend swearing could be time you spent investing your money”
Good Luck.
Grateful Day 62: I am grateful for YouTube and how much available knowledge and content you can absorb through videos
Reading Day 3: I will mention something interesting for every day that I read this month.
Currently Reading: Option B – by Sheryl Sandberg
- Sheryl is one of the top 100 most powerful women in the world and the current COO of Facebook. This autobiographical book follows her story of how she handled adversity when her husband suddenly passed away–her Option B
Something Interesting I read today:
“I do believe I have been changed for the better.
And because I knew you…
I have been changed
For good.”
