What do you want to be?

When I was 8 years old I told myself I wanted to be a lawyer because I would be good at making difficult decisions and doing important work

When I was 13 I wanted to be an NBA player because playing basketball was my passion and I was happy doing it every day for the rest of my life

When I was 16 I wanted to be a professional actor/performer, one day on Broadway because I wanted to be creative and create magic and happiness for the audience

When I was 17 I wanted to be a professional magician because I wanted to be creative and create magic and happiness for the audience

It’s interesting to see what influenced you in your childhood and lead you down to the paths you’ve walked in life. Look back at your earlier aspirations and it all begins to make a lot of sense.

I wonder what I’ll eventually become. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do important work, do something I love, and create magic in whatever career I pursue.

Grateful Day 37: I am grateful for ice skating. Been very intrigued by Nathan Chen and the Shibutani siblings, and will be rooting for them in a few weeks!

Magic Day 6: Okay. I chickened out a bit today. I was tired, and it was a long school day, and I just didn’t have the energy to go up to someone and perform magic.

Does making a card disappear while a little kid walked past me during lunch today count though? I mean, he seemed quite genuinely surprised and amazed.
